An artist friend was kind enough to give me a referral to a wonderful project, “Coloring Nature”, an on-going series of coloring books featuring different regions and ecosystems of the United States. The next one will be the Atlantic coast from north to south, including tidal areas. I signed on immediately.
Perusing the species still available since I was a bit late to the party, I found to my surprise that no one had claimed the American alligator! I added three bird species (great egret, green heron and glossy ibis), researched vegetation and was on my way. As it happened I had visited the Harris Neck NWR and the Savannah NWR, along with the Okefenokee Swamp NWR, a few years ago so I had plenty of great reference to choose from.
The finished coloring book is to be published within the next couple of week and I’ll be announcing it and where you can get it as soon as it’s available.
New Art For A Great Project!
